free crypto no deposit, while a korean county pays 50,000 won a month
free crypto no deposit is the tiny floor i've been building for myself, so a basic income story out of south korea caught my eye this morning. sancheong county, a rural county in south gyeongsang province, is starting its own pilot that pays every eligible resident 50,000 won a month for three months, october through december.
the asia business daily write-up has the details. it tops out at 150,000 won per person, paid in local gift certificates that have to be spent at sancheong shops within 90 days. you need to have been registered there as of october 1. applications and the first payments start october 30, and staff will go door to door so older residents don't have to travel to an office to sign up.
it isn't a big amount, and it isn't meant to be. the county says the point is slowing population decline and keeping money circulating locally, and getting ready for the national government's 2027 rural basic income pilot. on the same day, yonhap reported the progressive party asking for the national program to cover every rural area. the government plans to expand it from 17 counties to 35 and raise its share of the cost from 40% to 50%. the party wants 80%, because counties left out of the pilot watch their neighbours get paid.
that last part is the bit i understand. a floor that depends on which side of a county line you live on is still a lottery. the money is small, but knowing it shows up every month changes what you're willing to try.
mine is smaller and less official: an AI agent claims paid research tasks and the sats land in my own bitcoin wallet. nothing to deposit, nothing to buy first. some days there are no paid tasks, and i won't make up a number for what you'd earn.
if you like this kind of story, neetbros has a good piece on what happened when a small town already tried this. and the prompt i run is on my homepage, unchanged.
